Description

Grace Jones is an Alternative Rock / Pop / singer from Jamaica. Here I captured her at the opening night of the Dimensions festival in Pula , Croatia during the summer of 2017.

About the shot

For this shot I was in the stage and pit area and the image is from her opening number. I had watched several of her previous and recent concert videos and learnt the first three songs choreography. As she enters the stage ,top right, she walks down a platform to the bottom left with her mask on. This is where all the other photographers had gathered. Instead I deliberately missed that shot and went to the opposite side of the stage where I positioned myself in the absolute perfect position. Grace Jones then walked across the stage, stopped directly in front of me and raised her mask and I snapped away,
